Where to Start with Larry’s Adventures: Meet Larry and Choose Your Next Story

Every adventure starts somewhere. For Larry, a curious rescue cat, it begins with a new home, a new island, and a world full of surprises.

Inspired by the real-life adventures of Larry and the author, Larry’s Adventures brings together illustrated stories about friendship, courage, belonging, and finding joy in unexpected places.

If you’re new to Larry’s world, we recommend starting with Book 1: First Flight.

Start at the beginning

In First Flight, Larry leaves the streets behind and begins a very different life. There are unfamiliar sights, sounds, and smells, and a giant metal bird that everyone calls an airplane.

But at its heart, this isn’t a story about flying. It’s about taking a brave first step, discovering new friendships, and finding your place in the world.

It’s the perfect introduction to Larry before you follow him into his next adventure.

Then choose your own reading journey

After Book 1, you have two ways to continue.

You can jump to the current month’s adventure and follow along with Larry’s newest stories. Or, if you’d like to discover everything that happened along the way, you can catch up with a discount on all the other books.

There’s no rush. Choose the reading journey that suits you or the little reader in your life.

What will you discover along the way?

In Book 2: Lost in Tenerife, a day in the mountains becomes an unexpected adventure when Larry gets separated from his friends. With help from the characters he meets, he discovers courage, kindness, and the comforting feeling of belonging.

Book 3: Larry Learns to Fly, Part 1 and Book 4: Part 2 follow Larry as he pursues a big dream. These stories explore what it feels like to try something new, make mistakes, and keep going with friends who believe in you.

In Book 5: Dirk Never Gives Up, Larry meets Dirk, a lion with an extraordinary story. Inspired by the life of Dirk Delisse, this adventure is about strength, resilience, and believing in yourself through life’s challenges.

October’s adventure is Book 6: Larry’s First Autumn. Used to sunshine and island life, Larry finds himself in the Netherlands surrounded by rain, chilly wind, colourful leaves, and pumpkins. With new friends beside him, he discovers that even a grey day can hold a little happiness.
